The proverbial gloves came off during a debate by the candidates running for the DFL endorsement for U.S. Senate. It’s amazing what a little communication can do. Last month Minneapolis police dragged cyclists to the ground, used pepper spray and arrested 19 people during the monthly Critical Mass bike ride. This month police participated in the ride, which was peaceful. The UpTake’s Chuck Olsen, Noah Kunin, Jason Barnett and Lori Erickson documented the ride on camera and on their bikes.

October 25 marks the five-year anniversary of the plane crash that took the lives of Paul and Sheila Wellstone, their daughter Marcia Markuson Wellstone, and other dear friends - Tom Lapic, Mary McEvoy, and Will McLaughlin.

There will be a Gathering of Remembrance on Thursday, October 25.  The brief program will celebrate and honor the legacy of those that were lost.  Featuring remarks by Mark Ritchie and Connie Lewis, as well as the music of Ann Reed.

More details will follow, but please mark your calendars and save the date.
