Former Star Tribune Publisher Joel Kramer is launching an internet media company, MinnPost.com with more than $1.1 million in startup money.

The news provider has recruited staffers from a pool of former workers at the St. Paul Pioneer Press and Star Tribune who recently accepted buyouts or were laid off. The papers have gone through staff cuts in recent months.

Mr. Kramer will tell us more about the new news venture, and discuss the future of news media at our October 11 luncheon at Santorini’s Restaurant.
