As a reader/viewer of The UpTake, you’re already familiar with “Networked Journalism”. It’s how we create the videos you watch here. People who have stories to tell work with each other to create great content.
This way of doing journalism has caught the attention of the legacy media (TV, radio, newspapers and magazines) for two reasons. It’s an inexpensive way for them to obtain content and it’s also competition.
This week citizen journalists and legacy media types from all over the world converged on The City University of New York for the Networked Journalism Summit to exchange ideas. The UpTake’s Mike McIntee who has background in legacy media and citizen journalism found one of the ideas that came out of the conference is something we’re already doing here at The UpTake…asking you to decide what we should cover.
